The (HWC) Highlands Wrestling Club, Inc. is a 501(c)3  not for profit organization started in 2017 for charitable, scientific and educational purposes of fostering national and international amateur athletic competition with an emphasis on wrestling.  The HWC’s goals are to engage the youth and parents of the Ft. Thomas community in the sport of wrestling while providing opportunities for individual and team growth, character development, body awareness and lifelong friendships. New in 2018, the HWC now offers both youth and middle school age teams.  The youth HWC team starts at age 5 accepting wrestlers who are younger than 15 before August 1st. The middle school HWC team  accepts more advanced wrestlers grades 4-8.  Both HWC teams are co-ed with the goal of offering ALL wresters the opportunity to compete and mature for the betterment of their person.

The Highlands Wrestling Club is very fortunate to have coach Nick Spatola offer his training facility has a home base for HWC practices and team development.   Nick is a 3 x OHSAA State Placer, a NHSCA Preseason National Champion, Member of Ohio All Star Team, Member of the Schoolboy, Cadet, & Junior National Team.  He wrestled at Indiana University from 2002-2006 and graduated with a BA in Education.

Nick has been involved with the sport of wrestling for nearly 30 years.  In those 30 years he has traveled the world competing, coaching, and learning about the worlds oldest sport.  Nick is now entering his sixth season at the Fort Thomas location in Northern Kentucky.  On a daily basis, Spatola works with wrestlers and athletes of all ages and sizes ranging from 5 year olds weighting 35 lbs to 18 year old Heavyweights nearly 300 lbs.

Spatola is grateful and blessed to have the opportunity to put his passion to use and to make a positive impact on HWC and the rest of the world every day!
